Hello everyone!
Last month’s “Parents for Choice” Talks featuring local charter schools was a great success, and we are thrilled to meet again for our fifth Talks session on Saturday, May 26 at the Nevada Action for School Options (241 West Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada 89102) starting at 10:30 a.m.
This month, our topic will be getting ready for college. We want to ensure we have this conversation with parents early on in your child’s education. It’s never too early to get started learning about how to prepare for college. Do you know what options you have? How do families afford it? Some families don’t know where to send their child to get information about requesting a scholarship or a loan. Imagine what it’s like for a child to not know what path they need to take or want to take in life. It can all be very confusing.
We want to help with this. We have invited an expert in the college ready field, Evelyn Garcia Morales, who works at the Fulfillment Fund and will help us understand more about how to get your child ready for college, and how to start planning early.
Our organization believes in empowering parents to choose the education they determine is best for their child, which is why we are bringing this event to you!
You will also learn about the Opportunity Scholarship that gives up to $7,934 to send children to private schools, and important information about open enrollment dates.
Seats are limited for this event, so you will need to RSVP to secure your seat. RSVP here: https://p2a.co/RhyMhRn or to vgurr@federationforchildren.org
See you soon!
P.S. We will have pizza and refreshments. Children are also welcome. |
