Tommy Schultz is the National Communications Director for the American Federation for Children. Prior to the national role, he was the Communications Director for the Tennessee Federation for Children in Nashville.

Before joining the Federation, Tommy was the campaign Communications Director for Governor Terry Branstad and Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds in Iowa. He also served as the Communications Director for their Inauguration. The 2014 win propelled Branstad to become the longest-serving governor in U.S. history.

Other campaign experience included managing Grant Starrett’s Congressional race in southern Tennessee in 2016, and serving as the RNC Communications Director for New Hampshire during the Romney/Ryan campaign in 2012. In between campaign cycles, Tommy had stints with JDA Frontline and CRC Public Relations, both leading public affairs firms in the D.C. area.

Tommy is Catholic and graduated from Stanford University in 2011, a few hours from where his family farms kiwis and walnuts. He was a three-time All-American trapshooter in high school.
